Dhanvi's version of Toy story 3

Dhanvi is 8 years old & first time I took to theater for Toy story 3. For some reasons, he is not a big fan of earlier Toy story movies.
Personally enjoyed the most out of all 2011 movies.

After the movie, I asked him to write about it. Following is his take.

Once there was some toys. There owner,Andy was leaving for the collage. His mom said he has to organize his toys and things. He put all the toys but a woden cowboy named woody in to a rashbag, He was about to put him in the attic. Woody called a dog but he was old to run. Andy got called. His mom saw the trashbag andy left. She thought it was the trash so she put it at the curb. woody grabbed sizors and jumped out of a open window. The garbage trcu was coming. menwile the toys were trying to get out of trash bag. woody riped the bag but the garbage truck picked it up. Woody saw the truck crush the garbage. He thoguht it killed its friends. Then he saw a walking recicling bin. They got in the donation box. Woody tried to explan that they weere supposed to go to the attic but they didn't listen. Woody climbed in the box. he said daycare was harabble but they were trying to strop barbi from crying. When they got there, the box fell. they saw lots of toys. They cheered. they met the toys then there was bear. he showed them the man how would give them atour. he and barbi fell in love. there was gient baby. she opened the door to there room.

I will continue later..

He wrote for few hours. Still I have to type 3 more pages. There are lots of spelling mistakes but he memorized the entire movie right.
Just for sanity check. Hoping he will improve a lot down the line.
We are planning to watch Kung Fu Panda 2 & Car2 etc

Last weekend movies

After a long gap, got plenty of rest over week & watched the following
a) Taken (3.75/5) I liked it for very clear script.
b) The Hidden Fortress: {2ed, 4.25/5} I love simply Akira Kurosawa movies.
c) Shoot Em Up (3/5) Simple popcorn movie if you like tons of shooting.
d) Miracle at St. Anna: 3/5 (for some reasons Spike Lee failed miserably. Starting was good but later, it is pure disappointment. May be this is one of the reason; this movie went ignored by moviegoers.)

Also during holidays I am planning to watch “True Grit”.
Mostly because of Coen brothers & I liked their latest “A Serious Man”

My take on Toy story 3

Directed by: Lee Unkrich

First time I took my both kids to theater. Over all of it is interesting experience. Little one was crying after first hour or so. Elder one very emotional. (We watch many movies ,weekly once, at home but for some reason, may be first time theater experience.) At the end, we decided to watch more movies often, in particular forthcoming Kung Fu Panda 2/ Cars 2.

Now coming to my take, Toy Story 3 is a simply brilliant adventure where Andy is about to go to college & he was asked to rather donate/trash all his old toys. However Andi packs his toys up in a trash bag and tries to put them in the attic. In between, Andy helps his sister to get her toys in the car & in between his mom comes tohis room and thinks the bag of toys Andy left on the floor was trash so she puts it on the curb. This is perfect setup rest of the adventure i.e. all today’s goes to a day care center, where toys meet some evil characters bear etc then woody and the gang escape from the day care center & finally they end up a new owner. Opening train robbery sequences it simply amazing. I have seen of part1 & part 2 but this one is too good & I suspect more costly one also. may be all because of technology. Whatever it is a must. Also I asked my kids to write a summary. I will post their verion too. Basically my goal is to understand their ability to digest the movie.

The World's fastest Indian movie; A Wonderful journey

Movie all about a guy’s (Burt Munro) journey to achieve his dream, basically leaving his mark for next generations to challenge or inspire. What is so special about this one is it is it is based on a true story. I watched many movies in the same theme. (Rocky, Ali tops my head now) When I saw the title, I thought it was about Indians! But i am wrong.

Movie is all about Munro journey from Invercargill (NZ) to Bonneville (US),
And you will witness all the difficulties & the people he meats & cities he visits on the way & his strong determination to the final goal. Anthony Hopkins is absolutely brilliant in his role.

My small review of Avatar movie

Long awaited & more than a decade in making “Avatar” is supposed to be the film of this decade & if you looking for totally different experience & Avatar fits the bill however if you looking for gripping story or character development etc, this will disappoint a lot. Coming to story it is the same old Good vs. Bad formula. In brief it is destruction of Pandora (a planet which is very much identical to Earth) for some rich metals by planet earth people. Like many forecasting future conflicts for rich commodities on planet earth, James Cameron goes a step head i.e. we go to other planets for the same & will do anything to acquire the same. Whatever may be the story, the special effects in 3D makes the experience of the Avatar worth watching. At the end of the day, James Cameron knows how to entertain the audience with mediocre story.
